The Leo Solar Eclipse is a time of doors closing to the past that are no longer in alignment with our future destiny. It signals both an ending, as it sits with the South Node of the Moon, and a new beginning, as it occurs on the New Moon.

A quickening happens — where we are catapulted forward toward a new path we can’t quite see clearly yet. We must feel our way through it by listening to the wisdom of our heart.

Solar eclipses are a spark that ignite a six-month transformation in whichever house 20° of Leo falls in your birth chart. This is the area of life where a greater orchestration is being illuminated by the cosmos, so that you may step more fully into your soul’s highest path.

Eclipses can bring a wild-card energy, as we enter a two-week portal into the unknown. With this eclipse sitting alongside the South Node, a pattern, relationship, or person may be eclipsed out of your life. Something that has served its purpose may be asking to be released, creating space for what is trying to emerge.

It has been nine years since an eclipse fell in the sign of Leo, and 18 years since an eclipse in Leo was together with the South Node. Think back to what was happening in your life at that time. A similar theme may now be beginning to express itself again — but from an entirely new level of consciousness.

As the first Leo eclipse in nine years, along with Jupiter’s recent move into Leo, the invitation to live from the heart is being magnified.

At its highest expression, Leo wants to love without boundaries. To live a life of passion. To create beauty through the unapologetic expression of our true identity. It asks us to remember that we are here to create, to shine, and to let the light within us be seen.

But Leo also has a shadow.

Its shadow can be the rearing up of ego, pride, and the need to be seen as important. It can reveal leaders and authorities who seek to hold power over the collective, or the part of us that desires the spotlight and seeks praise, recognition, or compliments in order to feel worthy.

This eclipse asks us to return to the heart — to remember what makes us come alive, what we are here to create, and what can only be expressed through our unique Self.

We are being invited to become the source of our own light and have the courage to step into the life that is calling us forward.
